Privacy policy
This page explains what personal data Tropos Labs collects through this website, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can.
Who we are
Tropos Labs is responsible for the personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, email contact@troposlabs.com.
What we collect
Your email address, only if you sign up for updates, together with the time you signed up and when you confirmed.
Technical request data. Like any website, our hosting provider receives your IP address and browser details when you load a page. We use the IP address briefly, in memory, to limit repeated sign-up attempts; we do not store it with your sign-up.
This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers.
Why we use it
We use your email address only to send research updates and news from Tropos Labs. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by signing up and confirming through the link we email you. We never sell your data or share it for anyone else’s marketing.
Our emails may record whether they were opened and which links were clicked, so we can tell whether updates are useful.
Who processes it for us
- Vercel hosts this website and runs the sign-up service, in its Frankfurt region.
- Neon stores the record of your sign-up in a database in Frankfurt.
- Brevo sends the confirmation email and our updates, and manages unsubscribes.
Each provider processes the data only on our instructions. Where a provider handles data outside the European Economic Area, it relies on the safeguards described in its data processing terms, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. After you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you straight away and keep only the record needed to show that you consented and later opted out, unless you ask us to erase it.
Your rights
Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. You can also ask to access, correct, export or erase your data, or object to or restrict how we use it, by emailing contact@troposlabs.com.
If you believe we have mishandled your data, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country.
Changes
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell subscribers by email.
